Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes. All documents in The Employer Edit are built for Canadian employers and written with Canadian employment standards in mind. They are not generic templates repurposed from American sources. Several documents also include province-specific guidance and reference tables so you can review the rules that apply to your location and customize accordingly.

  • All products in The Employer Edit are built for Canadian employers and designed to work across the country. Where employment laws differ between provinces, products may include additional province-specific notes, references, or guidance to help you apply them properly within your jurisdiction.

  • No. Every document is written in plain English and includes how-to guidance so you understand not just what to use but how to use it correctly and why it matters. You do not need a background in HR or recruiting to follow the process.

  • All documents are delivered as PDF and editable Word files so you can customize them for your business. After purchase you will receive a download link automatically.

  • Yes. Once you purchase a pack, you can use the templates as many times as you need within your business.

  • The Hiring Packs give you the tools to find and select the right person, candidate profiles, job description templates, job ads, interview guides, and scorecards. The Contract and Onboarding Pack gives you the documentation you need once you have chosen your hire, employment contracts, a job offer letter template, and onboarding documents. They work together. The Bundle includes both.

  • No. The documents in The Employer Edit are professionally built templates designed to give Canadian small business owners a strong, practical starting point. They do not constitute legal advice and do not create a lawyer-client relationship. We strongly recommend having employment-related documents, particularly employment contracts and workplace policies, reviewed by a qualified employment lawyer or HR professional before use. Employment standards vary by province and change over time. What The Employer Edit does is get you most of the way there, at a fraction of the cost of starting from scratch with a consultant.

  • Each pack is available individually. If you want everything together at a better price, The Employer Edit Bundle includes the hiring pack of your choice, the Contract and Onboarding Pack, and the HR Policies Pack for $397, saving you $94 off individual pricing.

  • Because these are digital products delivered immediately upon purchase, all sales are final. If you have a question about whether a pack is right for your business before you buy, reach out at info@theemployeredit.ca and we are happy to help.
