Why The Employer Edit Was Created

As a recruiter with 11 years of experience placing candidates across Canada, I saw this pattern constantly.

Business owners who were sharp, hardworking, and good at what they did, but completely on their own when it came to hiring and HR. They couldn’t afford a recruiter or an HR consultant for every hire, so they winged it. And winging it catches up with them. A bad hire that costs thousands to undo. A labour relations issue that could have been avoided with the right documentation in place.

Most business owners didn’t come from HR. They came from running a business. That gap is exactly why I built The Employer Edit. Hiring packs and HR templates that walk you through doing it right, without needing a recruiter on retainer.

The Problem Behind the Business

Most small businesses are one bad hire or one missing document away from a problem they did not see coming. No structured interview process. No proper employment contracts. No workplace policies. Just a gut feeling, a handshake, and a job offer letter found online hoping it would hold up.

What is inside these packs

Every document in these packs is built the way a professional recruiter or HR consultant would actually do it. Job description templates written to attract the right candidates. Behavioural interview guides built to get real answers. Employment contracts in plain English. Onboarding checklists that get new employees set up properly. Workplace policies that protect the business and the team. All of it tailored for Canadian employers. All of it ready to open, edit, and use today.

Built for small businesses that need practical tools

Most small businesses do not need a recruiter for every position. They do not need a full HR department. They need practical tools, solid documentation, and a hiring process that helps them make better decisions.

That is what The Employer Edit was built to provide.
